Rusty and Frank Chase incorporated their tax and accounting business in October 1994 as Chase Enterprises, Inc.  At the time Rusty brought over 25 years of tax preparation business to the firm and Frank had been in the tax and accounting business for more than 14 years.

From October 1994 until November 1999, the service was operated out of Rusty's personal residence.  The original staffing was Frank and Rusty, but as the business grew, so did the staff.  We out grew the space available in the personal residence and had to find larger office spaces.  During the transition from personal residence to offices located at 946 N. West Street, we became known as CEI Accounting Service.

We operated as CEI Accounting Service from November 1999, until Rusty passed away in 2003. In 2003 the company split into 2 distinct operations - CEI Accounting Service (http://www.ceiaccounting.com) which is owned and operated by Greg Perkins, and CEI Tax Service. 

Frank Chase, CPA owns and operates CEI Tax Service with the help of his wife Janis from their home office in Valley Center, KS.  The company focuses primarily on income tax preparation, and refers most accounting work to the CEI Accounting office.  The 2 CEI firms work closely with each other to offer tax planning to their clients.

CEI Tax service provides income tax preparation to individuals, partnerships, corporations and fiduciaries.

OUR PROFESSIONAL STAFF

Frank Chase, Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant, graduated from the Wichita State University in May 1989, with a Master of Professional Accountancy degree.  He has been working in income tax preparation and preparing returns since 1980.  He founded Chase Enterprises in 1994 with his father, T.B. “Rusty’ Chase (who passed away in January, 2003).  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants, the National Association of Tax Professionals and the Kansas Chapter of The National Association of Tax Professionals,

Janis Chase worked in public accounting 10 years after graduating from Fort Hays State  University.  She then received a Master of Professional Accountancy degree from the Wichita State University in December, 1991, and passed the CPA exam in 1992.  Employed as an internal auditor with KG&E and Wolf Creek, she worked during tax season for CPA firms for several years before going to work for Chase Enterpises exclusively in 1995.

Ron Wirths is a retired former mid-level manager with thirty years experience in financial, computing systems management, cost management and industrial management disciplines for The Boeing Company.  He graduated cum laude from Wichita State University with a BBA with an accounting emphasis. He completed a comprehensive tax preparation course and several related tax training seminars..  In January, 2003, he came to work for our company and has been employed during tax season since.
